Every Thursday at noon we meet in the Lee Stadem Conference Room & Library for some fellowship and Bible Study with Pastor Paul. Bring your sack lunch if you would like. Coffee will be on! All are welcome! We will be studying the Gospel of John during the month of August.
The Owls (Retirees) usually meet the second Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m. Be sure to join the group … even if you are not a regular attendee. Come for coffee & fellowship. Even months they meet at the Fryn' Pan restaurant at 12th & Western and Odd months they meet at St. John in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome!
Men’s Monthly Bible Study & Fellowship meet the third Saturday at 8:00 a.m. at the Fryn' Pan restaurant at 12th Street and Western Ave. All are welcome!
There are usually two monthly Bible Study groups, meeting the third week of the month – Sundays at 9:45 am and Thursdays at 10:00 am. Please check the date and time for the Bible Study that fits your schedule, and plan to attend. The Bible studies are taken from the GATHER magazine. The winter series is titled Multiple Meanings: Learning from Other Interpretations by Mark Allan Powell. In February we will be studying Luke 3:3-17 (Prepare the Way of the Lord). We are looking at ‘multiple meanings’ and discovering reasons why the same Bible stories can mean different things to different people.
Please let us know if you have suggestions, questions, or concerns that you would like the Executive Board to address; or better yet, attend a Board meeting. The Board is considering changes for this year’s general meetings, and we are always looking for Bible Study leaders. Please contact Gladys Beck if you can help with taking a turn leading a Bible study.
The next Executive Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 26 at 5:00 p.m. in the church library.

LWR (Lutheran World Relief)
Now that cold snowy January is over you may feel more like shopping for items for our kits for LWR. The focus for February and March is Health Kits. If you are not a shopper you can also make a monetary donation for items for the kits or for transportation costs overseas.
A one gallon Ziploc bag and two quart bags full of pop tabs were taken to the Ronald McDonald House. Delivery of Box Tops for Schools went to Garfield Elementary. The lady who met me said they had just received a check for $410 from redemption of the last batch sent in. At 10 cents each, that's a lot of box tops! Keep up the good work.
Remember, none of these things would be possible without your continued support. Thanks again.

Please consider joining the Quilt Makers on Wednesdays at St. John. They make quilts for Lutheran World Relief and local agencies. There are a number of things you can do in the process of finishing a quilt. Stop by any Wednesday and see the possibilities! Quilt Makers meet each Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to about 2 p.m. Many hands make light work!
The Care Team Ministry consists of a network of volunteers who covenant to visit an assigned Care Recipient socially once a month. Care Recipients are fellow parishioners who for the most part are home bound or nursing home bound. If you would like to be a part of this ministry or would like more information, please pick up a brochure at the Welcome Center or call the church office.
